Guy's / Gal's
I know that I have mentioned last year money got tight and I sold off all my guns. I have also said that I recently started replacing them. When I went looking for rifles I noticed the LGS had my 540X and my Clarks Custom 10/22 still on the shelf. I bought them right back. Man I was happy to get those rifles back.
Today I had the chance to get the 540X out on the Range 55 Degree's sunny with kinda medium wind. I also had my eye's operated on for cataracts this winter (improved my long distance vision). It took me approx. three targets to get the scope back to zero. Another couple of targets to get the bore seasoned back in. But I was satisfied what the rifle fired today using CCI SV. Here is a couple pictures of the best two targets and the rifle. Funny thing is (my mind blows me away sometimes) I did not realize that I only had my scope set on 8 power instead of the 32 power that I usually shoot it at. I believe if I would have had it set on the 32 power that my groups would have been a lot better. Oh well next time :). Just a great day

Wow those are some impressive groups. Last .22 Remington had was a Model 581. Nothing fancy back then but great walnut and a decent bluing unlike many today. Hold onto that baby.

I'm glad that you got the guns back. I've been in that boat too.

There has only been once though that I was able to get a gun back. An old Ruger P85 stainless.

Of the ones that I wish I have let go, there are only two that I really wish I had back. One was a 1962 Thompson Auto/Ordnance and an old TT-30 Norinco handgun.

But I can understand why you liked the rimfire so good. You wouldn't have any problem putting food on the table with them. Very nice groups for sure.

VERY nice groups! That's a keeper for sure. But that 540X should be able to do just as well at more than 25-yards.

Scorpion,
I imagine that it would. But I have my own range and it is in a sink that is on my property. It is 25 yards in the flat part of the sink. I have plenty of acreage but too many neighbors around to fire safely right now. One of these day's I will build a proper back stop at 100 yards and really get to test her out. Maybe this summer I can get around to it.

Would love to see pics. Its always been a dream of mine to own some property enough to have my own range. The neighbors don't mind you shooting inside that hollow?

Scorpion I may take some pictures of it this weekend. It's not really a hollow. In Kentucky I live above a huge cave system. We get sinks and sink holes around here. So it really looks like a small meteorite hit and put a caved in spot in the ground. the flat bottom is about 30 yards total and it slopes up pretty steep to round 25 yards. Like a big bowl. I have one neighbor across the road that I can not see in the summer and the next one is 1/8 mile down the road. Woods all around and pastures.
