Looking through the manual and online I am not finding information on the torque specs for the factory synthetic stock on the Remington 783. Is there recommended torque settings from the factory for this rifle?

Using a Wheeler in/lb torque driver, I checked the factory setting on the action screws on a new rifle. I do not know if these numbers meet a spec. I started at 20 in/lbs and checked the tightness to see if the torque driver broke pressure at that setting. When it broke, I'd add 5 lbs and check again. I found on my rifle the rear (behind the trigger) screw made the driver brake at 25 in/lbs but started to move at 30. The front (fore end) screw broke at 45 in/lbs but moved at 50.

Most of what I've found online suggests somewhere between 25-65 in/lbs ( a very wide range). It appears much of the suggested specs recommend the same setting be used on front and rear.

Does anyone have any additional information on the proper torque setting?
