I recently purchased a torque screwdriver and want to use it to torque the receiver screws before re-sighting after installing a new scope. The rifle is a BDL in .223, free-floated barrel, glass-bedded action. I haven't been able to find any information on how many inch-lbs I should set on the device.
I know that I can start low (20?) and work my way up as I shoot groups, and then back off when they start to spread. However, this would use up a bit of ammo and time, neither of which I have much of to spare.
So, if you can advise me as to what setting(s) have worked best for you, I would appreciate your input. Thanks for your time.
