I have been shooting a VersaMax tactical for about 4 months and love the gun, but I really need a shorter stock and really want a real collapsible stock. The location of the safety would make a pistol grip extra usable. (I'm a righty)
Full disclosure; I work for an FFL and we do our share of prototyping, so we sat down and have come up with what we this is a good idea; collapsible stock adapters for the VersaMax and V3. The question is: is this really a good idea or are we spinning our wheels? We have invested a ton of time on this project, but just because we think its cool, doesn't mean anybody else does.
The angle of the VersaMax recoil tube makes a raised cheek-piece necessary for a good cheek weld/sight picture. (not unlike the Benelli M4 stock). Is this a deal killer or acceptable?
The V3 adapter is a straight line so no cheek piece is necessary.
Both prototype set-ups are fitted with limbsaver pads that make theses guys so soft shooting, it not even fair. (one has a standard plain jane M4 stock and snap on cheek piece and the V3 has a Magpul MOE, both with Ergo Grips)
I have some cell phone pics of the adapters and will try and post them in the photos forum.
No advertising here, more like a focus group. I know I'm threading the needle, but I'm here as a private member with no signals about our shop.
I'm looking forward to your thoughts.

I myself like full stocks on my shotguns...just a personal preference.
