I am looking to purchase another Rem 700 in .270 Win. Thus I an trying to evaluate what I am looking at.

Barrel stamped date code is RV , Has deep Blued metal finish, No factory iron sights on smooth barrel, Has the BDL retractable floor plate, Stock is not a typical BDC stock nice wood and looks similar to an adl I have seen on line.

Yep often difficult to make out the letters! My 1100 looked like it could be an O or a Q. Seeing I bought it in 80 believe it was a 1979 gun.
