I'm a new member to this forum and am from the North Georgia Mountains. But I am certainly not a new Remington owner. I received my first Remington 870AP Wingmaster 20 gauge shotgun in 1959 on my 10th birthday. My dad owned a 870AP 12 gauge he purchased in 1950. It's a first year production gun with with barrel code PWW. My 20 gauge has the barrel code PZZ and was made in 1953. In the 57 years since I got my first Remington I have owned many, many models. At least a dozen model 700 rifles, 2 model 7 rifles, a model 600 rifle, 2 model 742 rifles, a model 760 rifle, a model 581 rifle, 3 model 541 rifles, 2 model 572 rifles, 2 model Nylon 66 rifles, 10 model 870 shotguns, 4 model 1100 shotguns, a model 3200 shotgun and a model R1 45 auto pistol. And probably a few others that I can't remember right now. Presently I have the two 1950's 870AP shotguns, two 870 Special Field shotguns, one 870 Express shotgun, two model 700 rifles, one model 7 rifle, and one model 541T rifle. I have been a dove, quail and squirrel hunter most of my life. I did try ducks one season. Never got into big game, although I did have to shoot a 400 lb black bear in self defense. I had a wonderful pair of English Setters for bird hunting. Unfortunately I had to put them down in 2011 due to stage 4 inoperable cancer. They were 14 years old. I got them when they were 6 months old and we all had a wonderful time together. I even got them to hunt snipe with me one season. Never could get them interested in squirrels, though. I also spend a lot of time standing in the middle of the Toccoa River waving a bamboo stick at the fish. I built my first fly rod in 1958 when I was 9 years old. Been fly fishing all over the world ever since. Even took a fly rod with me to Vietnam in 1969. Tried to fish once in a nearby river and rapidly gave up when bullets started hitting the water nearby. Won't ever do that again!!! Fly fish in a free fire combat zone. What was I thinking! Anyway, glad to still be around and join this forum. Looking forward to reading all about everyone's Remingtons. And hopefully learning all about their operation and maintenance.
By the way, my user name is my Ham Radio callsign. Got my license in 1963.

Like to welcome you also. Live in the east and most hunting confined to states like Maine and PA. Currently own a TB 1100 trap model, a 84 vintage 700, and a Model Four in .270. Great guns and hope to find an 1100 Special Field for Upland someday.
