Refinishing receiver?

What would you recommend for refinishing the aluminum receiver on a 552? Lots of wear and tear on my brother's old rifle and I'd like to restore it. Here it is with my Nylon 66 Black Diamond:

I know this is an old post but I would try some Aluma Hyde II from Brownells, it did a fantastic job on an AR15 and a small pistol for me.
