Been trying to figure out a solution for the plastic trigger guard breaking when it's torqued down tightly. The rear pillar that the guard rest on has a large diameter hole through it so that when the screw is tightened it pulls the plastic down in the hole and breaks the TG. I put a .040 thick stainless washer with a hole just big enough for the screw to go through and about a half inch OD between the pillar and the TG. The screw can be tightened firmly with no bad results. Edges of TG can be rounded off if it bothers you. I'm also looking at making 1 out of metal. Either steel or aluminum.

One of steel or aluminum sounds like a great idea. Guess the bean counters figured they could save a buck by giving us a plastic guard! Pretty sad in my opinion. Hey have read of plastic triggers too!! No wonder our older 700s are high end today or at least they should be
