New to this form but not new to guns. Bought the wife the Remington RM-380. Took the gun apart to clean and lube for the first time. Taking the gun apart is easy. Putting it back together is another story.
Now putting the unlock pin back in is like playing the slot machines down at Hard Rock casino .I was trying to put this pin from hell in for over an half hour until it went in maybe by luck. The pin or the holes it drops into are sharp and has no taper to them. Went to the indoor range we shot the gun no hang ups but the trigger pull around ten pounds was not a good thing for the wife.

I had the same issue, fix is simple. When reassembling the gun pull back the slide by holding the gun near the grip so as not to put pressure on the barrel. I turn the gun so the left side faces up and the pin drops right in. Hickok45 has a YouTube review of the he RM 380 that talks to this.

Yup,

Watch the Hickock 45 video for a clear idea of how to hold the gun. Once you get the technique it's easy.

As far as your question...you have two members helping you with it above.

Let us know if the "fix" works...

I had seen the video by Hickok45 before I made this post. I just think that Remington should have taken the sharp edge off of the pin and the hole the pin drops into so it would be easier to install. But it would increase the price of the gun :)
