If you have ever used a Remington 1100 you know that loading more than one round is bit of a pain in the butt! I was searching around and I found a conversion that looks fairly easy to install. It's called a Dave's Metal Works Easyloader Carrier Assembly. Has anybody used this particular item or anything similar?

Used one...no. BUT I've got one ordered on backorder from MidwayUSA. One of the guys I shoot 3-gun with has an 1100 with one, and he thinks it really helps. He did say that he had to adjust it (i.e. use a file) a couple times to get it working correctly, so its not a "drop in and go shoot" part.

I emailed Dave on Dave's metal works site, asking if I could backorder one from him (he shows "out of stock" on his webpage), and no one ever got back to me, so I ordered from Midway. I'm hoping he's too busy making them for Midway to answer his emails.

My Tac 4 works great, but yes, the loading part is definitely an area open for improvement.

Thanks for the link! Yeah I ordered mine from a different website as well. For the price i found it for (roughly $35) it's worth a shot to see what its about. I really dislike the loading part for the 1100 lol

Could you explain to other readers including myself what exactly this part does in aiding you to load an 1100...and maybe a pic or two...thanks !!

If you notice, it's in a U shape with a groove down the middle, which helps you to guide the shell straight into the loading port. The factory Remington button does just the opposite - it guides the shell to anywhere but the center of the loading port.

The speed loading technique is pull 4 shells out of your California Competition shell holder, throw a shell into the open chamber, then feed the rest of the shells into the mag from a cupped hand using your pinky finger to push the shells one by one into the mag tube. Or just feed the shells into the mag, and rack the action to start shooting, whatever works faster for you. The Dave's Easyloader closes the action earlier, and helps to guide the shells better than the factory gate.

I've seen it work in action, and the guys using them seem to load pretty quickly with them. I'm not real fond of the way the gate hangs low and open, but for me its a competition gun, so sometime sacrifices need to be made to improve on times.

I've been practicing with the factory set-up, and inevitably, I drop the first shell on the ground while trying to push the release button in with the shell. I'm hoping this speeds my loading considerably.
