Nothing is serviced inside that port that I have ever been made aware of. The "plug" is missing that patches the frame after factory drilling of the relief area where the top of the trigger lever rides. You should be able to see the lever by looking into the hole. That missing cover doesn't appear to have a service part number for a replacement, so a boneyard for another frame may be your only source. That's the first Model 51 I've seen where that plug is missing. To the best of my knowledge, I believe it is still fully functional, but, find an old veteran gunsmith to get a 2nd opinion. I would hate to be wrong.
