I just checked Gallery of Guns. The MSRP is $417, $465 for the Alabama Inaugural Production and the Crimson Trace is $609. Their site says all three models are "allocated', which I take to mean they are currently not available in my area.

Thanks for checking out Major. Price is in the ballpark with most of the polymer stuff. Plus nice being metal. Like I said hope this one passes muster before leaving factory.

I be watchin', too, Mauser9. It appeals to me for the same reasons you have. I'm still very leery about the R51, but I'm absolutely sold on my R1.

GrabAGun has it listed for $384, however it is "Out of Stock" so I would not consider that their actual selling price until it is in stock.

I do not do well with specs. Is it about the size of a PPK? Disregard that previous question. I got the spec on the PPK (which is too expensive to carry around the farm) the BERSA .380, the Bodyguard .380, and the Remington .380. The size will work, the price of the Bodyguard is $ 350 and less but they are still having problems with it. The size of the Remington .380 is great, I want to hold one. I want to put it in my pocket. If it has been out a while with no problems I will most likely buy one.

Looks to me about the size of a PPK. Read the pistol should be at dealers by Nov. 14 and yes price of MSRP is $417 but as stated above the price of $384 seems great.

What's the "over and under" on the first recall? Maybe they won't announce the recall. They'll just let it die on the vine like they did the R51. I really don't trust Remington at all!
