Sorry folks, I tried a search and somehow got no results. I have terrible luck with searches.
I have two 1100's from 1966 and 1967 respectively. One is skeet choke and the other is IC. Can I use steel shot in these since they're open chokes? They're fixed chokes obviously.

Remington has said in the past: Any barrel made since 1950, any steel shot #2 or smaller, and any choke modified or more open, is okay. With the current steel loads from the name brand manufacturers - especially the newer wads, I wouldn't worry about it at all unless I was shooting big shot hypersonic loads thru a Full choke.
What could have happened... did.

Great info indeed. Often learn more on this forum in 15 seconds than by asking 25 people who don't know or just give dumb looks. Better to get a straight answer than risk ruining a nice gun.
