The Colt is scary accurate...
Shooter, I know what you mean about the "scary accurate" part. My oldest brother had his Gold Cup modified several times, a little change at a time, and it definitely is accurate. The only thing I don't like about his is that 2 lb trigger pull. It is just too light for my overall 'grip' on a pistol. Sure, I could get used to it if it was my only shooter, but my 1911s, the Sigs, and the S&W 22A1 are all between 4-1/2 & 5-1/2 lbs. All said though, I shoot the exact same groupings with my 1911R1 as I do with his Gold Cup. My Colt 1991 is just a tad looser, maybe within a 1/4" of those two. Overall, 1911 is the numeric spelling for "accuracy" in my dictionary. My "Tack-Driver" is the S&W 22A1 with the 7" barrel and standard sights. Nickel sized accuracy at 10 yds and Quarter size at 15 yds. I couldn't ask for more out of a .22 target pistol whose MSRP was only $299. They are now out of production and just recently so.
