Rick is right! I got the 1911 sickness at a very early age and it's still there growing. I'm also a Colt guy, but for me I gotta tell ya, it sure is a tossup between the two.

Oh Nice 1911s Shooter. I have my 2 Gov't sized 1911's but am still debating on the Sig Ultra compact in Two-Tone, Colt Defender, and now have started thinking about a Kimber Ultra-Carry II to finish up my 1911 collection. My Sig P-938 is fantastic to carry with its 1911 style controls (less the grip safety), but it's 9mm. I'd feel safer carrying .45 ACP in that the .45 will most assuredly stop in the target where the 9mm is fast and more likely to go through the victim and hit an innocent bystander or damage something else. Since the additional (carry) 1911 will be tossed around daily, I might even consider buying a lightly used one if I run across a nice one in 'cherry' condition.

Thanks Rick...

The Colt is scary accurate...

The Auto Ordnance is a great shooter...and was bought to compliment my Auto Ordnance / Thompson 1927a1

The Para was (and sometimes still is) a CCW...

Kevin, I couldn't help but notice that you left YOUR OWN R1 out of the picture. Anyways? :o

Shooter, I know what you mean about the "scary accurate" part. My oldest brother had his Gold Cup modified several times, a little change at a time, and it definitely is accurate. The only thing I don't like about his is that 2 lb trigger pull. It is just too light for my overall 'grip' on a pistol. Sure, I could get used to it if it was my only shooter, but my 1911s, the Sigs, and the S&W 22A1 are all between 4-1/2 & 5-1/2 lbs. All said though, I shoot the exact same groupings with my 1911R1 as I do with his Gold Cup. My Colt 1991 is just a tad looser, maybe within a 1/4" of those two. Overall, 1911 is the numeric spelling for "accuracy" in my dictionary. My "Tack-Driver" is the S&W 22A1 with the 7" barrel and standard sights. Nickel sized accuracy at 10 yds and Quarter size at 15 yds. I couldn't ask for more out of a .22 target pistol whose MSRP was only $299. They are now out of production and just recently so.

Has anyone seen one of the Huntsville Alabama produced R1's?

They were supposed to make a run in April but where are they?
