I'm lazy so I cut and pasted this from my Arfcom post at the request of BangBang30:

There is a Remington 870HD buried in there somewhere...

I freely admit I built this for looks (although it is fully functional). I'm sure many of you feel it is impractical/ugly/heavy/blasphemy/all of the above.

I don't care, I dig it. Image Kinda reminds me of the shotgun from HALO: Reach.

I may remove one of the light mounts, but I like having the button shrouded. We'll see. May also add tritium sight inserts, but the light leaves a good silhouette for the sight and I may not need them. The side rails will get another section of cover each, I'm still tinkering with the rail screws so I didn't put them back on yet. And I know the front sight is "backwards." Believe me, it looks all kinds of wrong the other way.

Special thanks to hotrod_sxty8 for re-doing his magpul forend for me in black...

Parts list follows the pics. Pastry out.

ETA 18" Rhino Rail
Daniel Defense fixed sights
Cheapo light mounts I found on ebay
Surefire G3 led
Magpul rail covers

That is something else, looks good though. How much does it actually weigh?

As long as you like it that is all that matters. I am not here to judge as we all have different goals for our firearms. I certainly commend you on setting up your shotgun in one of the most unique configurations. I bet you get a lot of attention with that when you go to the range. I too am curious about the weight of your setup. Thanks for sharing and keep us updated on any future modifications!

It's different but it's done nicely and if it functions well that's all that matters. I like to keep mine simple with just a mag extension and maybe a stock swap. But to each their own. It looks good.

Ok, man, something I admire about the Remington that I cant do with my mossbergs is use that Mesa High Tube Adapter... it always been one of my favorites because the look is so clean. The ergonomics are all wrong on the Mossberg for that. I have actually considered getting an 870 like a police magnum parkerized, just so I could use the Mesa High Tube!

I like the full length rail too, looks sweet! Everyone need a shotgun to dress up, and if youre diggin it, then its cool with me. I've said it before, (somewhere else) its your goat and you gotta feed it, not anyone else, so you go right ahead and get it dressed up for the prom anyway you see fit! ;)
