Hello everyone!
First off I want to thank you for approving this account!
Second, I have run into an issue I wanted to address here to see if there are other options for me. I purchased a R1 Enhanced a while back, and there wasn't an option at the shop for the threaded barrel..so i just bought one with just the standard. Now I wanted to upgrade to the threaded as I had a huge interest in later down the road adding an Osprey can or something of the sort, but the issue I have run into now is apparently Remington won't replace or swap barrels of any kind as its a "liability" as they put it over the phone. They recommended a partner company for aftermarket barrels called Storm-Lake, so I check them out and they have absolutely no option for 1911 threaded barrels. I call them up and leave a message with my issue and they call me back saying they don't even make barrels for the R1 nor does he know anyone that even does.....why the heck would you have a aftermarket barrel Remington partner company and not even make R1 barrels?????????? Anywho, long story short....apparently the only way I can get a threaded barrel for my R1 was to purchase one with it already? Seems a bit ridiculous to spent 900 dollars on a fantastic 1911 to not be able to upgrade to something as simple as the barrel.
Now does anyone here have any expertise with this area or have any good recommendations on what I can do to pursue my dream of making this thing suppressor ready?
I really appreciate your time for reading this and for possibly helping me out! For the record this is def not a hate thread on Remington! I love the brand and i absolutely love this 1911, just seems a bit absurd to not be able to find parts like that.

Welcome to the Remington Owners Forum MolonLabe1911 !!
I understand your frustration...most manufacturers give a heads up to the industry and they in turn start making holsters, lasers, and even barrels before a model hits the streets... Looks like someone dropped the ball... |

Hey Shooter! Thanks for the warm welcome!
Would you or anyone else know of any source where I can look into R1 barrels or is there really nobody that makes them? Also If I were able to find an aftermarket piece for a R1 Commander/Government Threaded, would that be compatible with the R1 Enhanced? |

Sorry...can't find any source at this time.
Other members who own R1's may chime in...stay tuned !! |

Storm Lake, owned by the Remington Outdoor conglomerate, is the maker of the standard barrels on the R1's.
