I recently purchased and installed the Pacific Tool & Gauge (PTG) aluminum bolt shroud and firing pin assembly. The unit is well-made and fits nicely. It took a bit of weight off my rifle, and I'm expecting a bit faster lock times with the lighter firing pin. I would highly recommend it to any Model Seven owner.

Sorry to dig up an old thread. How much weight can you take off a Model 7 before they float away? On my two I think the scopes were heavier than the rifles.

REDHAWK RIFLES is carrying the Bell and Carlson synthetic stocks for the model 7. They carry a few colors and their price seems to be about $30 to $40 better than the other places selling the same stock.

I just ordered one of these..... Which is about the same stock that Remington uses (or used) on their M-700 Titanium Mountain Rifle.

Here is the page with the other colors. They also sent mine via priority mail so they saved me anotehr $20 in shipping.
