Using the TJ shim or other? I've done it without the shim, leaving the trigger piece and FP plunger in, but taking off (grinding) the lever and notch used by the trigger lever and removing the FP plunger and spring.

The trigger is more responsive and my shooting has improved, just wondering how people feel about making this mod.

I have the R1S stainless

I did this same modification to my Sig 1911 and I too think it improved the trigger. I bought a shim(standard .057) from Brownells. I don't have enough rounds through my R1S to know whether to make the modification or not. I have been having issues with FTE's, that i think have just about worked themselves out (broken-in). I didn't want to do anything to the pistol, in case it needed to return to Remington.

I ordered the TJ's shim yesterday from Brownells.

I have the R-1 standard, had it a little over a month and I've put about 500 or so rounds through it. It's been good but I am going to do the shim to convert to 70 specs. I also have done the usual trigger internal polishing and it's pretty good. I want to see what the shim conversion feels like.
