I have an older 552 Speedmaster my grandfather gave me years ago. I can't remember a time that this old rifle was not hanging on the wall or shooting rabbits and squirrels. The only SSN I can find is on the left side of the barrel by the stock. These are the only identifying marks on the rifle, AL 52. I would appreciate it if anyone can help me to date this rifle. Thank you.

Thank you, It was very helpful, per the code it is either a '42 or '64 but my guess by condition is that it is a '64. Thank you again for your help.

Got to be 64. They didn't start making the 552 until 1957...
